As a greeting card the image has been appreciated for Valentine’s Day, engagement, wedding and anniversary celebrations. It is also available as an archival reproduction and blank journal.
Dying of Love: Smoke and Embers
Egg Tempera on Gesso Panel - 13" x 20"
One viewer interpreted the painting, not as the demise of love, but rather as smoldering passion. He renamed the painting “Smoke and Embers”. Here I’ve combined both titles.

Fertile Flesh
Egg Tempera on Gesso Panel - 20" x 16"
The concept of a flower growing out of the flesh of a woman's body reminds us that we are deeply part of nature and the fertility it brings. The image helps counter the negativity many women feel about their belly fat.
The painting has served as a healing image for women and affirms the journey of fertility and pregnancy.

Fish Without Bicycle
Egg Tempera on Gesso Panel 12" x 24"
“A woman without a man is like a fish without a bicycle" is a feminist saying.* My interpretation is intended to be a celebration of sensuality, hence the aromatic lilies and visually lush environment.
The vibrator is intended to be incidental - but paradoxically of course it is the focus of the painting. This is a preparatory study that I am currently creating a giant 4' x 8' version of.
*The saying is often attributed to Gloria Steinem but was actually coined by Irina Dunn, an Australian writer, social activist, and filmmaker.
